There are an estimated 500,000 highly qualified, experienced professional women in the UK seeking to return to their careers after a break to have children. A significant proportion of these women are over-looked or excluded from the traditional corporate recruitment process due to out of date skills, lack of confidence or barriers in the recruitment process. Prior to BrightWorks, following 15 years in strategy and management consultancy with Virgin and Ernst and Young, Sara founded Capability Jane Recruitment a niche recruitment firm specialising in part-time executive recruitment operating across the UK, of which she is now Chairman. In 2008 Sara founded a diversity recruitment consulting arm of Capability Jane that was acquired by Alexander Mann Solutions in January 2015. Sara has deep subject matter expertise in diversity and flexible working and has worked with a wide variety of global, private and public sector organisations. Sara has a particular passion for job sharing and is the founder of The Job Share Project, a not-for-profit vehicle that promotes awareness of job sharing as a means to work part-time in senior roles.
